Our professors assigned us an on-site sketching project at Borivali Station. Sketching in a dynamic environment forced us to focus on capturing the essence of the space, prioritizing the spatial idea over intricate details. Our task was to visually document how the railway station and its surroundings were shaped by the interactions between people, objects, and architecture. With this brief in mind, we set out to rapidly sketch the ever-changing scene.

I observed people at the station rushing to catch the local train. I sketched the moment just before the train was about to leave, when everyone was in a hurry—some running, some holding on to the train, all trying their best to get inside.

Later, I enlarged that drawing into a bigger concept by making two compartments. I focused on the relationship between them and observed how people move, use, and behave within that space.

After that, I created a long sketch showing how people experience the space and how they behave in it. Everyone is in a rush to catch the train some are standing inside, some are holding on tightly, and a few are even half outside the train. Through this sketch, I tried to capture the crowded, chaotic experience of that space.
